Loh Guan Liang
Hello, my name is Loh Guan Liang.
I am the author of two poetry collections: Transparent Strangers (2012) and Bitter Punch (2016), the latter of which was shortlisted for the Singapore Literature Prize 2018.
Beyond my own writing, I've also co-translated Art Studio (2014), a Chinese novel by Singapore Cultural Medallion recipient Yeng Pway Ngon. Although I mostly write poetry, I have also ventured into short fiction, essays and literary translation. Writing is a way of observing and reflecting on the world, and I seek to share my love of creative expression through workshops, readings and talks.
My work has been featured in a variety of publications and projects, including the Singapore Memory Project, The Arts House 10th Anniversary celebration and The Substation Love Letters Project, among others.
