The invitation to speak at this forum came as a surprise, for I've never participated in an event at the Malay Heritage Centre before. It looks to be a different crowd from the one I've encountered before, but we'll see. The Malay Heritage Centre's Public Lecture Series aim to promote Malay heritage and culture, in relation to topics foregrounded not only in the Centre's permanent galleries and its special exhibitions, but also the wider Nusantara region. The lectures range from academic talks to community forums and feature speakers drawn from academic, community and cultural circles.
For this particular forum, we will discuss the pleasures and pains of translation. Admission's free. Click here to register. Event Details Date: 4 August 2018 (Sat) Time: 2.00pm–3.30pm Venue: Malay Heritage Centre Auditorium, 85 Sultan Gate, Singapore 198501
