Poet Loh Guan Liang, 31, says: "When you don't read what Singapore writers have to offer, what you create becomes a pale copy of Western voices. We need to do more to shift the collective agreement on what 'good' writing is, as 'good' is often synonymous with Western in Singapore." Now everyone knows my age.
